okay witch version is your favorite

1. Original with car engine block 1976
2. Second Version gray metal arm with Steel Beam 1977
3.Third Version with chopping blocks and Biosonic Arm 1978

I Personally like the second version cause the arm was actually painted to look like a robots arm once the skin was rolled up

Only had the original version of the character (went through three of them....them things were brittle!) so I would have to go with that version. The Bionic grip feature sounded cool at the time, but I liked the ratcheting lift action of the first better.

Never knew about the third version until somebody mentioned it here years ago. I do like the outfit it came with. Always hated that Steve was too big to redress in GI Joe outfits so he had to stick with the red jogging suit, or the shorts from the critical assignment legs set.

Engine block for me. Thats the one my brother had. I got Maskatron.


Personally I'd like a poll to see what feature people liked more. Steve Austins or Big Jims board breaking, metal band busting flex o muscle.

I only had the Bionic Grip Steve...but F.Y.I. Captain, all Steve's had the ratcheting feature with the button on his back...only difference was the Bionic Grip was a button under his fake skin that you could push to make his hand grab something...but he still could ratchet, as you call it. My Bionic Grip Steve punched off the chest plate, ratcheted, and threw Bionic Bigfoot many times when I was a kid!

i had the 1st version myself and had many adventures with good ol steve!

I had (and still have) the original first and second editions, but I prefer the first one. On the first one you had the removable "bionic" block on the forearm. In the second edition it's just a yellow button to push the hand closed. I also preferred the engine block over the rubber yellow beam. I preferred the artwork on the first edition box also. All cool toys though!
