Planet of the Apes Riffle Mattel

I went to my local antique shop in Old Towne Orange and they have for sale a Mattels planet of the apes riffle in nice looking condition. I dont know anythin about planet of the apes stuff or how rare it is. They want 70 bucks for it if anyone is interested and collects apes stuff...let me know....

I dont know, I was just able to take one pic and they told me to stop. Ill it say on the paper was 1960's Mattel Plane of the Apes Riffle and the price and will try to take another pic today...its not that far from my house

Judging by the shape of the stock its a Thompson (tommy gun). Which I believe is the rarer of the two?
Also, didnt Marx make one of these as well?
