    captain action weapons and acc

    hiya folks,

wondering if any of you who collect CA mix in any of the playing mantis accessories with your vintage. I have some very melty guns and pistols and am thinking of giving them some PM items for display. However, I don't want to invite more melt problems tho, especially don't want to stick anything to the costumes. I had to clean the rifle barrel off of the Phantom suit and I don't want to try that again.

    any thoughts are appreciated.

Was also wondering about CA repro boots. I know there have been some repro items and have been pointed in that direction. Is there a way to tell the repro items apart from the vintage? The museum is fantastic with its information on ctvt and docs stuff in the mego world, but I cannot find anyone with similar info for Captain Action.

    The PM Boots are Vinyl
    Ideal Boot are Polyethlene
The Plastic use in the orginal CA line Has a lot of regrind Plastic which make them more Brittle and More Asceptable to Melting.
Take all weapons Out of the Vinyl Holsters and diplay seprately from the figures. The chemical reaction with the weapons (sofing) will Happen, Gentally wash the weapons with Mild soap to try to remove the Vinyl gas that has leeach on to the plastic gun.
CA boots are the same as 1977 Knight of Darkness boots from Ideal
I might have Orginal CA boots

      Hiya aaaaa,

Thanks for the info. I still have this ? tho.
If I put some PM guns in my vintage Phantom holster, am I going to end up with black goo running down onto the costume? This is what happened to the original items and it was hell cleaning it off of the uniform.

Are all Ideal boots hard plastic?

I make repro CA decals if you need them. PM me for details.

As for the old parts, yeah you need to display them side by side. I would leave the gun in the holster.

If you put the PM weapons in the old Ideal Holsters It will Happen again,
Yes all Ideal boots are Hard polyethlene plastic.
If you want to display pistols in holsters you might try the MR. Action 45's there polyethlenes with is immune to the chemical reaction
