    Dawn of the Super Jocks

Schaper Toys had a real hit in their hands in 1975 when they released "Super Toe Football" the first of their "Super Jocks" line of toys. So by 1978, it should come as no surprise that they had expanded into other events such as Baseball, Basketball, Soccer and Hockey.

The President of Schaper introduces Super Toe while chomping on a stogie..

Alex Karras, fresh from "Blazing Saddles" is brought in to hawk Super Toe in 1975.

Although I do not believe that I ever owned one of these figures I do remember seeing the commercial for the football figure. I thought that it was kind of neat that you push down on the head and the guy kicked the football. The things that amaze us when we are kids.

Now days I am amazed when I see a name like "Titcomb".

Only two I didn't have were the soccer player and the baseball guy. Played more with the football guy and basketball guy because you only needed yourself to play. Hockey you had to have someone be the goalie.

My cousin had the football guy and we'd try to kick that football farther than physics would allow. We never succeeded. "Aw man! Why can't we get it to fly over the house?"

I remember a buddy of mine brought his football Super Jock to school.
It was fun for about a minute then we all quickly got bored with it.

                I never understood,
Was Super Jock suppose to be a robot ?
and if so, that would seem hardly fair to the human participants in the game

                      I loved the super jocks!
In fact, as Kicker of my High School football team, I was given the honorary name of Super Toe! . . . never could kick as far (in scale) as the real deal though, I could hit from 60 yards with my SuperToe, right down the hallway from my room toward my parents.

I, also, had Super Toe. He was alot of fun. A great way for young kids to take out their aggressions.

I loved him but never understood as a kid why the football was flat ( i know now it was so that my parents would not be needed to put it in the right position to kick).

Maybe I am simpleton but I remember goofing with him for a long long time

thanks again for a great memory

I had the Super Toe. Man, that football was rock hard. My brothers and I used to chuck it at each other all the time. Never drew blood, but there were some slightly concussed moments from our childhood as a result of that toy.
