    Help With A Space Toy

Apologies for being vague before I even start, but I'm asking for a friend and I'm not really sure about the toy. Do any of you remember or know about a space toy where the men/figures have some sort of engine attached to them? When you put them in vehicles, the engine apparently propels the vehicle. It sounds like it might be easily identified, but I am not familiar with them. maybe from the 60's?

I'm not too familiar with the line but isn't that how Major Matt mason toys work? I think he has some kind of powered backpack?

Could it be Topper Toys Ding-A-Ling Robots? They had a removable battery pack on their back that would power their mobile when you put them in it. They're from the late 60s/early 70s.

I think Monsterramas right. Thats the only toy that came to mind that had a external interchangable power pack.

Billy blast off used power packs but they were built into the figure.

The engine may have been attached. Like I said, it was described to me. My familiarity with Matt Mason is pretty superfluous but is definitely not Ding-A-Lings. I suggested those and he told me it was a strict space theme. Maybe Mason makes sense.

Billy Blastoff was awesome. I think he was made by Eldon or Elgin in the late '60's. The space set was the first release. They also made a scuba set and some kind of fireman or construction set. Still have my old scuba Billy.

My wife also has a toy with an engine in her nightstand drawer that I can't figure out.

Pretty sure it ain't Matt Mason.....
