I was going to post that link in my Ledy SW thread but then forgot. It's always nice to see these figures get some more attention. I just hope it doesn't create too much new competition for when I'm bidding for these on ebay though. This has been one of my favourite, but frustrating toy lines to collect. Something about their cheap, almost bootleg look really appeals to me.

There will be enough competition between the two of us if a nice Jawa ever shows up.

I love the Ledys. Partially because the Hombre de Dunas is really cool, and partially because I enjoy taking a look at the same toys from a different world. The LL megos are the same for me, as are most non-north american toys that have a counterpart in the US or Canada. Sort of like the Earth two version of toys you grew up with.
I've seen those boxed photos somewhere before. Can't remember off of the top of my head, tho.
mmmmmmm
I had to take another look at that Jawa. Some day little fellow....

That is exactly one of the big appeals of these toys for me too. It's like the figures came from an alternate earth, very close to ours but subtly different. The toys are similar to our childhood toys, but different. That's one of the big reasons why I like these, Ledy superheroes and others. There's a slight nostalgic connection combined with discovering something new.
So it's gonna be war when a Ledy Jawa finally shows up, is it? I better start saving up! The last sale I've heard of for a Jawa was a few years ago, off ebay: a boxed one that sold for around $1600 I believe. I have no idea what a complete loose one would go for at this point, $400-800 or so? Yikes! These figures just aren't showing up as much as they used to 5-10 years ago. The boxed ones from the warehouse find are mostly locked into collections by now, and loose ones seem to be turning up with less frequency in Mexico.

The last thing resembling a Jawa that went past ebay was repro/fake and it sold for something like 120 or 160 or so? I would think the real deal nekkid doll with the portrait would go for little more than that. Add some for the bandolier harness and the robe. $400 is a good starting point. But then again, there have been several Raiders lately and none of them are fetching the asking price. And that is supposedly the hot potato of the bunch.
We will have to draw straws; or have a timeshare on it.
Last one for me to find. My buddy in Mexico city told me it would be tough - "well, those are ugly... and nobody bought them" Something like that.
For now, there are a finite number of pictures on the web to look at and I have some grainy black and whites from old Toy Shop ads. I can just blow one of those up and have it be my placeholder until one shows up.
Yeah, that repro one was basically a Ledy Charlie's Angel figure (painted black?) with a repro outfit. (the original Ledy Jawa was a Ledy Angel molded in black, with a new featureless head with glued on yellow eyes). I had no interest in that one though.
Do you have all the other figures, rche? I'd love to see a pic if you do.
There has been one Raider on ebay recently that isn't selling. I think the price ($350) is too high for one with no boots or cape and a repro bandolier. It's probably $100-150 too high. I'm holding out for one that at least has boots.
Yeah, that Raider from Brians has been sitting there. It is intriguing. Kind of shows what the market is doing. All prices are sagging a bit, especially if items are not complete. He does have an offer option.
There was another totally nude one that did not sell recently as well.
That is the toughest body (aside from the Jawa) as it is not flesh colored, but rather a darker somewhat orange shade. So you can't really replace it with a Ricardo body if there are problems, or cast a head and put it on a Ricardo for that matter.
Good point about the body (same with Darth). I've seen naked Tusken Raiders sell for around the $100 mark in the past, I don't know about now.
Actually, I've been thinking about looking for a nice Ricardo body. One of the legs on my Han is really loose and floppy, and I'm worried about it falling off someday. I gotta find a Ricardo with nice tight legs.

For the floppy leg. It is most probably the plastic armature inside the rubber leg by the hip joint. It is a thin piece of plastic and if someone tries to spread the legs out in a karate kick or something too many times, it snaps. This leaves just the rubber to support the weight of the figure. If it is only on display and you have a stand, you should have no problems. Other than that, you have to dismantle the joint and epoxy inside the rubber without melting it. Tricky, but it can be done.
Or you can find a Ricardo body and swap the legs out. Use some nice hot water on the joint to loosen it up when you pull the leg off and don't pull to hard on the other side, or you will have the same problem there.
-Hec ...I always get a kick how the Spanish-speaking world refers to Star Wars as la Guerra de las Galaxias...which translates to...The War of the Galaxies.
The more accurate translation would be...Guerra de Estrellas...Star Wars.
I dunno Hector. The literal translation doesn't really do it for me. I think the feel of the phrase 'Star Wars' is that there are entire galaxies at war. La Guerra de las Estrellas seems too literal, like you are having a contest between points of light or TV soap opera personalities.
Thanks for the tease rche! Sure, that got listed after I went to bed, and sold before I woke up. It's certainly not every day I pay a thousand bucks for a figure, but I would have for that one, that was a steal for a boxed Ledy Jawa! Damn.
