I used to have just about all of them and the sizzler's cyclels too.

Together they were my fav non-action figure toys of all time.

I think they're cooler than Hot Wheels. I really like the super far out ones like Bone Shaker and Preying Menace etc etc.

I did not have them in my child hood days. However, I do have some of them now that I am an adult HW collector. I think they are pretty cool. They are HotWheel yet different at the same time in a neat kind of way.

I still get the rrrumblers about a half hour (give or take) after eating at Taco Bell.

...the toys going by that name are much more fondly remembered.

Mine was shaped like an air craft carrier and had a plane or two with it like a jet fighter. You would pull the trigger and the plane would launch and fly pretty far before falling to the ground. Those were pretty neat back then. Now you have got me thinking what was that I actually had??

                Me too!

My brother loved Rrrumblers as a kid and still does. He asks me about them and whether or not I can get him some. Maybe some day I'll score him some. I thought they were cool too, but I was an action figure kid. Still am.

I never had the hotbirds planes themselves, but I did have a cheapo knock off version. The plane was made of bronze colored plastic, but looked pretty much like the Star Grazer. Instead of a control launcher gun thingie, it had a ring you wore with a hook on it. You hooked the string to the ring, and then hooked the other end to a doorknob or chair top, then the plane clipped onto the string and away it went....very slowly because the plastic little plane didnt have enough mass to propel it very well. I ended up tying the string to the plane and ran around trying to "fly" it like a kite.

I loved hot wheels and sizzlers. I even had a chopcycle or two and a couple of hot birds. I don't remember the rumblers, though.

I remember Rumblers, Sizzlers, & Hot Birds! I had a little bit of each of those & loved them as a little kid.

Does anybody remember FARBS? They were cars that looked like cartoon people with wheels on them ( sorry I don't have a pic ).

I collect reds so I pick up Rrrumblers and Farbs when I see them, which is not often.

Here are a few currently in my collection:

                        Cheers!

PS - Pics are a bit big, sorry!!!

Yes, had rrrumblers AND Farbs--too (and a tiny versions called "z" something or others--memory is fuzzy on that one).

Some pics on my other web site from the 1971 Hot Wheels collector's catalog (always loved th pics in these things):

that preying menace is sweet. some of the prices for carded items are just as high as some megos. making them collectible in their own right.
