The 1979 Ideal Summer Toys Catalog

Aw yeah, summer's almost here and it's time to take a peek into what Ideal Toys had in store for back yard fun with the 1979 Summer Time Catalog.
Lots of pages of inflatable noveltys such as pools, air mattresses and water wings being modeled by some of the hottest moms ever to grace a suburban cul-de-sac.
Many of these items are licensed featuring characters such asSuperman, Batman, the Barba Pappas (remember them?) Mickey Mouse and Ideal's own Knight of Darkness.

I Like the lounges. That would be a blast to have. I could have alot of fun chilling in the pool with some brews on that thing

That Batboat inflatable is sweet. I like the Superman and Batman head-thingees, but Ideal couldn't resist the dreaded Ben Cooper syndrome of putting "Batman" on his chest symbol.

I had some two Ideal pool toys, even though we didn't have a pool, and I rarely got to one. A Superman beach ball (with that great Superman looming over the exploding Krypton shot) and a Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman swim ring. It was pink. I bet it was really for a girl.

Oh, and no moms in my neighborhood ever looked like that...dammit.

Where's the pithy comments B? I missed them.

My best friend's mom looked exactly like Dr. McCoy. Most of the neighbourhood boys had a crush on my mom, I hated that.

I couldn't wrap my head around the subject matter, so I decided to just be lazy for a change.
