I'm not sure why it took me so long to get around to the Fisher Price Adventure People but they're card #18. As anyone who reads this blog might already know, I have a mild obsession with this toyline, they are one of the most memorable (and durable!) action figures of the 1970s.
The set pictured is probably for me, the pinnacle of Adventure People, the Boat and the plane connected, that was the BOMB in 1976. Next Sunday, I'll be holding another contest for complete sets of these.
I'm right there with you on the love for the Adventure People. I had the TV reporters (used them as WGBS employees to interact with my CAH Superman), the skydiver, the sea rescue with the dolphin, and I bought one of the little boy figures in 1978 to use as Boxey for use with my Battlestar Galactica figures. I like to think of myself as having been a creative kid
I want the card because PS cards are so cool and I want to keep my collection complete but this is the first card that makes me go, "Meh". I really have no love for 3 3/4" figures. I see them as one of the reasons why the 8" Mego disappeared.

I'd never heard of this line before coming to this and the Retroland board. I think by the time these came out, I had moved on to bikes, skateboards and skates, (and of course teen idols), that I didn't even know about these.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
Yes !! I must have one !!!
I had the set pictured, and several others. I loved the one with the Blue boat and shark.. probaly came out around 79 or so. I had the van, the motorcycle guys, I had that tv crew too, the Safari set....... several others too.
Those were great and well made toys, they went thru me and onto my cousins and were still kicking around in the early 90s for my nephew to have as well.............
