Spider-Man pops a Wheelie?

You don't see a great deal of AHI stuff in department store catalogs but the Zoom cycles were a little higher price point and combined superheroes with Evel Knievel, so it's a no brainer.




This page is from the 1976 Azrak Hamway Catalog and shows that Spider-Man, Batman and Doctor Zaius were in the coolest motor cycle gang ever.

I don't EVER remember seeing the AHI stuff in any sort of catalog or advertisement when I was a kid.

They were, however, ubiquitous at the retail level. I especially remember seeing the parachutists all over the place.

As stated in a previous AHI post, some of these really didn't make any sense. Buut I love the Batmobile, Batcycle, POTA Horse, and Flintstone car.

I had that Batmobile, It seems I can recall seeing the other stuff at stores.

I just can't picture Zaius as the biker type. Although how cool would Battle have been if Aldo had a biker gang.

I had quite a few AHI toys, but never those zoom cycles. I'm betting Spidey's webs were just filled in on that catalog shot.

I also recall seeing cowboy/horse combos similar to the Zaius on horse toy, at state park gift shops in the 70s/80s.

I had the Spidey and the Batman zoom cycles. I gave the Spidey to my childhood friend, who is a Spiderman collector. But I still have my Batman zoo cycle with the battery charger too. These well FUN toys that I really enjoyed as a kid. I got them for Christmas one year. Great times.
