    New Horses for Johnny West!!!

Not sure if this should be in Classic or Modern? Since JW is a classic, I opted for here.

I know more than a couple of you folks collect Johnny West/Best of the West figures so I thought you might find this of interest. New horse's and tack sets are coming soon made from the original Marx molds, with that fantastic Marx plastic smell and everything!

They will (so far as I know for now) only be available from two different places.
The first is already amassing names for pre-orders:

    Koehler Customs Home

Steve isnt at the pre-order stage yet, but has four more models coming to choose from:

I figured they'd be outrageously priced seeing as they said they are only making 195 of them (some reason for that arbitrary number??) but if that's something you are into $40 isn't too bad.
Now where are all the Mego molds???

Since Jill (and Steve) are only selling them on their web-sites I'm guessing they felt those numbers (approx. 200 each for a total of 400 horses) were appropriate. These are made in the USA as well, so there is probably little advantage to cranking them out in huge numbers.

I believe there will be more in the future as well.

Price wise, it isnt hard to find original Marx horses for under $40.00, but these will be all new not just in construction but in coloring as well.Plus the tack is also new in color. And..unlike the Mexican made Thunderbolt of 1999, these are made from the same materials as the Marx originals....which means the vinyl accessories have that great aroma that instantly transports me back in time to the early seventies, and reminds me of Christmas and long ago birthdays!
Also, If your like me and have a few hundred Best of the West figures, its nice to have a varied remuda of horses to sit them on.

Yeah I don't collect (nor did I ever have) any JW stuff but if this was a Mego Stallion that they were reproducing in new colors I would definitely want a couple different colored ones for variety with my apes and AJ.
I also figured $40 was probably enough to get an original as well but would that be complete? MIB? or just average loose?

Excellent! I've emailed for one each. I'm unfamiliar with Koehler Customs. I see Jill Koehler grew up in Saskatchewan. Is she still there?

Nope, she married an American, and they now live in the States. She's still a Canadian country gal though!

Kryptomaster, you might get a complete horse with tack for about $40.00...maybe.....if its a common Thunderbolt or possibly even a Commanche. If its Stormcloud, or one of the rarer horses.....odds are against it. MIB, nope.
