Where I lived in NYC, we never got any personal appearances. The only exceptions were Miss Louise (of NYC's Romper Room), who gave her farewell party in Central Park, and Henry Winkler (the FONZ himself) who made an appearance in Gimbel's or Macy's. But that was pretty much it. Unless you lived in the burbs...not even Ronald McDonald. What a gyp!
