    Camping with Bert and Ernie

As weird as this set seems, my kids have a modern version if this that's almost entirely the same except Elmo is now crowbarred in there. Bert looks totally at home on a chopper, I should have known he was an outlaw biker.

Somehow I just can't see Big Bird (who's perpetually 6 years old) driving a pick-up!

I'm almost ashamed to say this now, but I wanted one of those sets big time when I was a wee one. Ended up with a cheapo knockoff version of the little people car and boat with two wild and crazy looking dudes..........

Was camping that big in the 70's? It seems every toy line had a camping version- AJ, Big Jim... heck mego even proposed that camping set for KISS!

That's got to be a really big truck for Big Bird to fit in. Or does he squat down or something?

Obviously they are camping at Camp Crystal Lake, as Ernie has been cut in half.

Great looking set. I'd have went ga-ga over this as a kid. And my daughter would be nuts for it now!

I'll tell ya, these Sesame Street toys had/have so much charm. It's always a pleasure to see pictures of them. Imagine if you had all of them right in front of you.
