I have toy magazine ads for these, they were widely distributed in North America.

EDIT: I just found an ad online, I see they were sold as "star-mites" as well? I think I need these now!

I found the first four of these UFO COMMANDER 7 toys, sans the missles and Vulcan 1's shooting hands (). Pretty interesting line I had never heard of until finding them.
Figure it's easier to just post this link.

Cool stuff everyone, love those UFO's!
Very happy to land this the other day, from the same source as the X-Ray Gogz I posted a while ago, case-fresh Poopa's!

Nice grab Will. Is that from the same seller who had a bunch of retro items still in boxes recently?Comment

Hey Cat! Yes it is, I bought a couple of things off her after I bought the gogz, she had multiples of most and the other Poopa tub finished on Ebay yesterday for slightly more than I paid her for mine, so we're both happy! I was the under-bidder on just about everything else she listed that finished yesterday, can't win'em all!
Your scary little guy is all boxed up and waiting by my front door for the Post Office to open on Tuesday, finally found a suitable box :-)Toltoys Kid Vintage Australian Toys and Ice CreamsComment

>they were widely distributed in North America.
Yup! When I was a kid I got a bunch at a hardware store.
>Did they come carded?
They came in plastic cases; cardboard bottom, plastic bubble that fit over the figure.
>I see they were sold as "star-mites" as well?
A few of 'em got recycled as Star-Mites.

I've got a lot of stuff in lately but it's all in a pile on the floor. I'm hoping to re-do my toyroom this summer so I can display it properly and take some pics until then here's a piece that I got in yesterday. Kind of a small grail of mine and been trying to pick one up for a couple of years now. Just in from Australia it's the 1977 Palitoy Marvel Superhero Game. Not much of a game but I love the artwork!
