The real Batman and Robin in 1975

Paul Novak sent in these amazing shots from Chicago in 1975. As superhero appearances go, this is the top of the food chain. Adam West and Burt Ward live and in costume as Batman and Robin. Even though both mean still tour, you'll never see them in their bat duds again.

Burt Ward still looks like he jumped off a television set here, I can't imagine how cool this would have been to be a kid and meet these guys.

    Thanks Paul!

And he was THIRTY years old there too. Pretty youthful lookin' guy.

(Can you believe he suited up as ROBIN for that roast thing even THREE/FOUR
      years after that?)

I got to meet Ward around '72 at a place called Doe River Gorge. At first I didn't think it was him because he had a moustache. I got a Robin button and an autograph. Wish I still had it. Cool pictures!

Was that at the World of Wheels at McCormick place?

I seem to remember them there but don't have any pictures.

This is from the 74 program

I'll bet West wasn't charging $55.00 for an autograph back then like he does now.

Damn, that would have been cool to see back then. I would have been a giddy little 7 year old, that's for sure.

I saw something on TV Land once where it was said West hadn't put the cowl on since the last day of shooting. Right....

This is really cool. I think West was wearing his bat-suit at appearance well into the eighties. That Bat-Clips DVD has an appearance that had to be from around that time.

Ward looks very much like the then-current Teen Wonder Robin. Hey if those Smallville guys can do it...!

I don't penalize them for portraying younger people---I'm just envious

I met them around 1978 at a similar car show appearance in Buffalo. I did get both autographs, albeit on a small piece of notebook paper and they signed "Batman & Robin" not their real names but I did get a B&W 8x10 of Adam West as Batman and he did sign that. I don't know if I didn't want Robin's pic or if they cost money and I could only have one or what the story was. I just know I only got Batman's. I have it in a box somewhere.
That was definitely a highlight of my childhood.
I went and looked and for a second I thought I found it but it wasn't in the folder I thought it was in but there were some neat other things in there like some Dynamite posters and a Burger King Star Wars poster and an 8x10 of Mean Joe Greene. LOL
Maybe I'll take some pics and post in a separate thread?

Wowww!!!! I can't even begin to describe how cool 7-year-old me would have found that event to be.

                            Thanks for sharing that!
