Need restoration help: Getting spots out of plastic?

I was looking at my Ghostbusters figures today and Peter has what looks like little brown spots on the plastic. Anyway to fix that?
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

It depends on what the spots are. Are the figures carded? It they're loose, have you tried just wiping them off? There are a lot of things that can cause spotting. It they're carded, it's probably some kind of mold or mildew. Do you have any pictures of them you could post?
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

The figure is loose but not dirty. It's definitely in the plastic. I will try and take a pic of it.

Peter needs some bed rest and Chicken soup

But seriously I am wondering if the zit cream method (just putting zit cream with Benzoil Peroxide on the face and allowing it to stay on for a bit, with several applications, stains fade on Mego heads) would help if it is a stain caused by mold or mildew.
