    Charlton Heston Not Included

Ever since I first saw it in the 1976 Remco Catalog, I've been a little fascinated by the Earth Quake Tower Playset, which obviously was inspired by the many works of Irwin Allen and the disaster craze of the early seventies. It's kind of morbid but if I had seen it as a kid, i'd have been all over it.

What they don't show is the top level falling and hitting the kid in the head.

Looks like it's pretty cool...the best part is it comes with A SOUND EFFECTS RECORD . I'm imagining 30 minutes of rumbling & sirens, puncuated by shrieking people being crushed & burned.

Nothing says Christmas morning fun like death & devasation. Can't wait for the Hindenburg playset with the actual "Oh, the humanity" record.

Thank God we had no parents groups to ruin our fun when we were kids.

And could you imagine this being marketed after 9/11?
I have to wonder if these things ever turn up at garage sales or flea markets...I've never seen one.

This would have been a killer playset for for my Megos, especially Spidey. I can't even begin to imagine the number of scenarios I would have created around this beautiful toy.

I had this playset in the 70s. The sections of building were on springs that made them move from side to side, though not enough to actually fall down. It had some cool firetrucks with winches etc. The record was a thin floppy thing with sound effects. I think my parents got it at closeout at an Unclaimed Freight or some other such discount store in PA. It was a lot of fun until my buddy from across the street body-slammed it.

Always somebody around to screw things up, isn't there?

Kids would get the spire on top in their eyes and get hurt!

I remember seeing this and wanting this at a TRU. I just couldn't convince the parental unit that this was money well spent
                      It's all good!

I heard the tower comes with little women figures that have removable pantyhose to make a rescue rope out of.
