Help me ID this 70s children's show

For years I've been trying to recall the name (and/or more info) about a children's show I remember from the early-mid 70s.

The show featured live actors (kids or teenagers or adults?) as well as puppets. There was some sort of 'wall' with different shaped doors or hatches. If I remember correctly, it looked like it was all made of of wood with the doors/windows in different whimsical shapes. The puppets popped out of the various doors to talk to the live actors.

I seem to remember seeing or having a coloring book from the show as well.

I know its not much to go on, so any help is appreciated!

    The Bugaloos??
    "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn"

In the Southeast Pacific, lies the sunken city of R'Leyh. There lies C'thulhu waits to return to our world with the other Great Old Ones. A hideous creature of enormous size and alien power, it waits for it's time to return patiently. For it has all the time in the world while it waits for the stars.

I'm thinking it was "The Curiosity Shop"....I remember this airing on ABC. I was able to find this opening on You Tube:

Apparently Chuck Jones was involved, as were comic strips writers Johnny Hart (BC) and Mell Lazarus.

I believe we have a winner! My memory wasn't perfect, but I'm sure that's it! The coloring books actually bring back the memories better than the clips. Thanks everyone!

Here's a link to the prime time special preview of The Curiosity Shoppe:

              YouTube - Curiosity Shop Special

Funny this is up here now, b/c this was my fave Saturday morning show when I was 5. If you look closely in the link I just posted, you'll see child actress Pamelyn Ferdin. She was my fave person on this show, and guest starred on The Odd Couple, did voice-over for Charlotte's Web and Charlie Brown, and was in Saturday Morning's Space Academy. I looked up her website and sent her an e-mail. She replied the other day. (form letter style, but that's OK) I remember being horribly upset when she left The Curiosity Shoppe. The show just wasn't the same.

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

Loved that show, too. It never dawns on me, though, to look for these things on youtube. I should keep a journal and when I think of an old show write it down so I can search later on.
                  It's all good!

I always thought the Curiousity Shoppe was a PBS show???
Hmmm. Didn't realize was a network show. Unless I'm confusing it with another show with a similar name?

I never knew what her name was. I had a kid-crush on her back then. She was on all kinds of shows as a guest star. She had a very unique voice that was instantly recognizable to me.
I wonder what she's done since the 70's? I don't think I've seen her since then.

                          Hey Rich,

I copy/pasted this biit from the e-mail she sent me:

I'm no longer in acting. After becoming a registered nurse and working in an emergency room at a County hospital caring for indigent patients, I am now a full time animal rights activist. I am a member of Animal Defense League-Los Angeles (see Animal Defense League Los Angeles - ADL-LA and also go to ADL-LA's current campaign web site at Stop The Killing

And Drain, this was a Saturday morning show on ABC.

^^^^^ I wonder if that was by choice or if she was one of those child actors that couldn't get work after they grew up?
Too bad, as far as I recall she was very talented and popular enough to get so much work that she was recognizable.

I just remembered the PBS show I was confusing this with. Don't know why the confusion as they may not have the same premise but the PBS show I was thinking of was Hodge Podge Lodge.

                              Here's more from her e-mail:

I felt that acting was not really making the world a more peaceful, compassionate place, so I became a nurse. After twelve years of nursing I realized that people do have a voice and they can ask the nurse for pain killers, assistance in getting up, and will tell you off if they don't feel you are giving them the best of care!! Animals can't speak out on their own behalf, and there is just a small minority of people who are willing to speak up for them. As Ingrid Newkirk once said, "When it comes to suffering, a pig, is a dog, is a rat, is a boy."
