Everyone, I'm hoping you can help me...I've tried a couple other vintage toy forums with no luck......so we'll see how I do here
This one has been bugging me for a couple weeks now ever since I got into a discussion about it with another friend of mine.
Ok, here's what I remember: It was about a foot and a half long. It was based on a NASCAR car of the day, about 75 to 79...a Dodge I think, Charger or Challenger. Had a spoiler on the back. Basically it came with a little wrench and you could take off and remove "bent and crushed" body panels, take out the engine, and so on.
I want to say it was Remco or Ideal or Marx or Schaper but without any kind of idea of what it was called, man I am truly grasping at straws. Again it was larger, not hollow it was a sturdy car, I don't BELIEVE it had any action figure that went with it as the doors didn't open.
Its not the SSP Smash Up Derby stuff (which also had replaceable panels!)....these panels didn't pop off and the car was much larger..it was more "screw on the bent up panels then play pit-crew and replace them with normal non-dented panels" to restore your race car like new.
You could take out the engine, take off the wheels, the body panels, etc (not all of the body panels, just a couple had interchangable parts...a good one and a 'bent up and damaged one'.
I've found my old Schaper U-DRIVE-It...I've tracked down the old Richocet Racers launcher I owned..but THIS.....THIS one eludes me!
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance! :D
