The Power records gave some sort of back story to the adventure team as did the viewmasters. I'm not sure if they count as canon though, hate to start a flame war.

I have those records and viewmasters. They had some cool stories but nothing as to their origin or why they do what they do. I love how the viewmasters had a "Sarge".

          Yeah, Sarge rocks.

The power records kind of give Joe this globetrotting agent of good thing, he arrests a guy in the secret of the mummy's tomb.

I love that it's all up to you.

            Brian,
I have the Peter Pan, BR510, (33.33 record) that contains all three of the Smaller Peter Pan releases, The Secret of The Mummy's Tomb, The Secret Mission to Spy Island and The Rescue From Adventure Team Headquarters. I havn't heard the stories in years. I looking for some who can put my Peter Pan Story records on Casset or CD. I also have some single story Peter Pan, (45 records) Star Trek PR-26 and Space 1999 PR-29 & PR-32. Also, I will have to find a talking View master so I can watch my Adventure Team GI Joe Viewmasters reel on. I do have a spare set of non talking reels, I may put them up for sale. I don't think they made a talking Viewmaster of GI Joe, I may have my Talking Viewmaster of Beneath the POTA, confused with it.

For those who may want it. Here is a list of the Peter Pan Read-a-long comic/story book that were release in the 45 record format. My PR-29 and Pr-32 has photo of the other releases on the inside of the front and back cover, show 20 of the 21 sets, PR-19 Escape from POTA is missing. PR-26 just has artwork, Marvel based. The list come from the jacket holding the record and starts with PR-10.
            PR-10 Spiderman (later Vol. I)
            PR-11 The Hulk
            PR-12 Captain America
            PR-13 Fantastic Four
            PR-14 Frankenstein (Marvel)
            PR-15 Dracula (Marvel)
            PR-16 The Man-Thing
PR-17 The Wolf Man (Marvel) (Later Curse Of The Werewolf)
            PR-18 Planet Of The Apes
PR-19 Escape From The Planet Of The Apes
PR-20 Beneath The Planet Of The Apes
PR-21 Battle For The Planet Of The Apes
            PR-24 Spiderman Vol. II
PR-25 Star Trek Vol. I (The Crier In Emptiness)
PR-26 Star Trek Vol. II (Passage To Moauv)
            PR-27 Batman
            PR-28 Superman
            PR-29 Space 1999 Vol. I (Breakaway)
            PR-30 Batman Vol. II
            PR-31 Conan
PR-32 Space 1999 Vol. II (Return To The Beginning)

            PR-1 to PR-9, PR-22 & PR-23; I can only guess were children based stories.

Hey Drain, are you on the Power Records Yahoo group?

Anyway, here's a site that has the GIJoe Peter Pan book (no sound) and the talking viewmaster reels (w/ sound!), just in case you wanna hear w/ they sound like. (you must have Quick Time)

Actually, he turns the thief "Mummy Barka" in to the authories. "Oh, boy, the authorities will be glad to see you."

I know I've posted this before, but a guy named Jim Sweet, has animated the Peter Pan of Mummy's Tomb and put it on You Tube. It's pretty cool, and even my mom liked it!

                    Land Commander Joe:
                    "Ummm...I need that for ummmm....medical reasons. Yes...thats it....medical reasons."

                    Boarding agent:
"?...And what might those reasons be sir?"

                    Land Commander Joe
"Errr....ummm....Hemmoroids?....I mean, yes, hemmoroids.....I suffer from severe roidal discomfort. As you will clearly notice, the vehicle is meant to be ridden whilst on ones belly. NOT in the seated position."

Air Commander Joe: (standing immediately behind in the line up)
"Miss...I just want it known that while we look somewhat alike, I'm not with him." (points to Land Commander)
Looking at Land Commander---"Hemmoroids?....Your a real idiot you know that? You havent been the same since you went all "Eagle Eye" crazy on the rest of us...Sheesh!"

Never seen the Power GI Joe records before....Interesting items. As per "Canon"....can there be such a thing on an open ended toy line like the original Joe lines?
