    Zayre Toy Circular from 1975

It's hard to find vintage newspaper toy circulars, most people threw them out five minutes after reading. That's a shame because they are such a neat and attractive way to see pop culture history.

That's why this toy circular from the Zayre stores is one of my favourites, first I was five years old when it came out so I wanted almost all of these toys.

In this little time capsule, we see Star Trek mania sweeping the nation, Sesame Street dominating the pre school section, classic board games like Haunted Mansion and Mego licensing a 40 year old movie.

Wizard of Oz figures are $2.99 and Star Trek are $2.39? Wonder why the 60 cent difference?

I had that Pivot Pool game. I bought one not too long ago off eBay. At one point toy companies were trying to get celebrities to stick their names on products and Lucille Ball endorsed Pivot Pool, the box has got a great big picture of her on it. Like that would appeal to kids of the mid-70s! Bizarre! What Lucy had to do with pool I don't know.

I had/have one of those Fisher Price dolls (a black one named Elizabeth) as well as the Raggedy Ann & Andy Talking alarm clock. My cousin Kaila had the Tree Tots Treehouse, (she called them Tree Tops).
