Unfortunately you can't tell who's who on ebay anymore so you have no idea who's bidding on anything. I've been outbid plenty of times (found out later) by members here. Besides what's to stop anyone else in the world from outbidding you? It's a lot of luck mostly. Fortunately there is so much stuff on ebay and so many places to list things that inevitably Mego items fall through the cracks and end up listed wrong. Those are the needle-in-a-haystack bargains. There's always someone with more money and if that person wants what you're bidding on bad enough they will win every time..

I like your idea, and if I knew of a particular aution somebody was really hot after, I'd stay out, but I am no threat right now anyway since I don't have as much to spend as usual.

        Murphy's Megos Law:
If you forget to bid on something on your watch list it will go for 1 bid and something like 7 cents (YES IT HAPPENED TO ME!)
If you really want something, there will be 10 bidders bidding against you.
If you think you've won with 5 seconds left and it's something you really want, someone will snipe you.
If you are the only bidder and think you are getting a deal, someone will "feel out" your maximum bid but not overbid you thereby making you pay a lot more.

There is a way to tell if you are bidding against friend or foe on ebay. They still give the high bidder feedback number. You can check that against you MM friend Bidders. Also, ebay assigns the same shortcut combination id to each different bidder. So your combination is different from mine.
