What kind of school book covers did you have ?

Back in the day, my mom used to always buy me generic psychedelic patterned ones -- usually on sale in the back to school section of the store.

One year, she got me a set of Sweathogs covers -- and I was in heaven

Finally, by the time I got to like 7th grade, it was "cool" to have book covers made out of plain brown shopping bags.

Funny thing is, when the shopping bag covers came into fashion -- I remember seeing in the store REAL book covers for sale --- made to look like plain shopping bags

The ever popular brown paper bag. My mom would label it w/ the book title, my name and my room number. After that, I'd sometimes decorate w/ drawings of my own.

I was the brown paper bag, too. I probably drew more on those then actually pay attention to anything in the actual books
        It's all good!

First it was the brown bag. But by the time I got into junior high around 1983, we would take centerfolds from rock or teen magazines, and make book covers out of them! I had many Motley Crue, Ratt, Twisted Sister, and more bands adorning my math and history books. A couple of the teachers weren't too crazy about it, needless to say, but it wasn't a big deal in the end. I remember the girls all had Duran Duran and Menudo book covers haha
