Nerf!

It sounds rather odd that after 3 years of blogging about 1970's toys, I've never once mentioned Nerf products of any kind. It seems odd considering how cool I think this stuff is, especially the safe missiles....

I have a toy collector friend, who has one of those collections I can only dream of. When I last visited, he told me he has something "awesome" to show me. I was expecting some never before seen prototype but it was a boxed Nerfman. You could tell it was a huge grail for him.

Nerf stuff was so cool.
My kids love the Nerf guns that shoot the foam darts.
They are actually kind of fun for me too! hehe
I'm thinking that new Nerf machine gun might be a Christmas present this year. haha
We all had a Nerf gun fight awhile back. The kids loved it.

The only problem with Nerf stuff is when the dog got a hold of them.

You should compare that to the new Nerf Vulcan max fire machine gun.

Now thats high tech, little kid fire power. Get a few Longshot rifles with scopes to take up sniper positions and you could easily take the whole neighborhood.

My most vivid memory of Nerf was so wanting the "Y"-shaped Nerf boomerang when it first came out. I finally got it, took it out to the yard, gave it a fling, and BAM there it rested on the roof of my house. My dad waited 2 months before he got it down. By then it was sun-dried and cracked all to hell.

The only problem with Nerf stuff is when the dog got a hold of them.

Tell me about it! I had one blue and one orange-red Nerf ball, and our dog Missy would take chunks out of them.

Who didn't have a Nerf something as a kid. I remember those missle launchers.

I wore out numerous nerf footballs. Perfect size, weight and texture for kids to throw around. The basketballs weren't bouncy enough, but yes, the missiles were fun too.

I remember prefering a Nerf football to its leather counterppart when I was in 5th and 6th grade.

A few years back my sister thought it was hilarious that I got her a Nerf automatic gun for Christmas. It was funny because, without talking about Nerfs or ever really mentioning beforehand, she had bought me a Nerf crossbow.
