    Hail to the King

As wonderfully creepy as the new Burger King ad campaign is, it should be remembered that the original characters were creepy (especially the Duke of Doubt) to begin with and that is when they weren't trying.
This doll has been the subject of a running joke in my life, for years, no matter what toy show or flea market i would attend, I would see one of these somewhere. It became a game between me and my wife who could be the first to find one.
MY Aunt managed a Burger King for a while, I swear she had 50 Star Wars glasses in her kitchen.

That was the "Marvelous Magical" Burger King that was popular in the mid to late 70s. (which BTW...is who today's creepy King is modeled after). But this is the version I knew when I was a kid and BK first opened.

1973 Burger King 14" doll cloth cartoon version ad toy - eBay (item 220139706508 end time Dec-04-08 1800 PST)

I have one of these in my toyroom, but not in as nice shape as this one.

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

I think the "magic trick" he tries to perform involves him trying to steal your soul.

His Magic Trick is his ability to sneak into your bed with a croissant sandwich without you noticing it, and his shape-shifting girly hands. Brrrrrr!!!

The sad thing is, I would eat the croissant sandwich before I realized the situation.

Nah, it involves clogging your arteries without you noticing, and expanding your waistline to twice it's size.
