    Vintage Trick or Treat

Time to unveil more of the fabulous vintage photos you kind folks have sent me this month, above is Wes Booth as a Cylon long before they were called "Toasters".

Alisha sent in this wicked picture of her as Princess Leia, that's her dad as a musical ghost behind her. I think if I saw that costume coming towards me I'd run in an unmasculine way....

Kolin sent in this trippy shot of himself as an X wing Pilot, that's a great costume.
And here is Kolin's class from an earlier year, love that Ben Cooper Spider-Man.

The last picture really shows just how defining Ben Cooper costumes were for those of from a certain age bracket. 9 out of 11 kids are decked out in them. When I think back to Halloween, I think that's the type of percentage I remember wearing them for YEARS. Those vinyl jumpsuits and plastic masks defined costumes and much of Halloween for so many of us.

That last picture was my preschool class from 1977. I have no idea why I was the oddball that had the maskless costume.

My son Andrew walked by while that pre-school pic was up and said "That's not a very good Spider-Man costume. The colors are all wrong!" Of course he's spoiled by comic accurate costumes. We were all just glad that the Spidey mask was at least accurate (and very Ditko-influenced), with no giant spider on his forehead!

Yeah, since I grew up just outside of Harlem, Ben Cooper was the thing to have b/c they were so cheap. And you could pretty much be anything you wanted b/c the selection was so plentiful (unless you waited til the last minute!) The majority of the kids wore those back then.

Awesome pics, I love these type of photos! THANK YOU.
The funny thing is I had that "Casper The Friendly Ghost" suit when I was little but the costume part was different, the mask was the same.

Love all the Ben Coopers, but that musical ghost in the second pic is probably the scariest thing I've ever seen. Imagine running into that in a dark alley...LOL!! Very Cool
