Pick a Set From the Denim Patch

What was with the obsession with patches? I never really got that but I honestly remember thinking they looked cool.

    DVD Day

Just in time for the election is this limited edition DVD of Politically themed School House Rock segements. Just hearing the words "Schoolhouse Rock" puts "conjunction junction" in my head for the rest of the day.
Anyway, while you do get classic stuff like "I'm just a bill" you are far better off picking up The 30th Anniversary Edition for like a buck more.
Other than that this week also sees a release of quintessential 70's gangster cinema with the Godfather Trilogy. If you haven't already picked these up, they may be of interest. How else would you be able to catch the 100 or so references to it a day on "Opie and Anthony"?

    Just a guess .....
Wearing army jackets with patches in the late 60's throughout the 70's was extremely popular.
    I had a few myself.
This style might have been related to the Vietnam stuff going on at the time.
Also, related to the very popular at the time Hell's Angels.

The peace patches started around this time --- and then extended into just ANYTHING on a patch.

Seems to me, that's how patches became popular

I had an overall patches set too. It came w/ a multi-colored patch long sleeve button down, and the overalls didn't have patches on them, except for the word "Foxy" spelled out in patch letters across the bib. This was all the rage at my school. And strangely enough, I got the "Patches McGee" doll (by Gabriel toys) that same Christmas.. We looked so cute together.

And I have the whole SH Rock on video, along w/ the guidebook, lunchbox and 2 shirts.
