I wouldn't be a good seventies orientated blogger if I didn't address Underoos every so often. I think I saw my first commercial for these probably during the Superfriends and like a lot of kids, demanded them on the next shopping trip. Of course, they were no where to be found in my area. At least my kids have them now.
This ad features my favourite 70s Marvel Character Spider-Woman, I really wish Mego had made a figure of her.... Previous Underoo Blog Post
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
good ol' underoos ... my reward for being potty trained was a set of Batman underoos ... I was 2 1/2 to 3 years old ... I remember stars on a chart and getting my underoos after not crapping myself for like a month (prob. a week but seemed like a month to me at the time) ... TMI i know, but damnit I wanted my Batman underoos and I worked hard to get them
I think the shirt might still be around here somewhere.
I never got any underoos as a kid 'cause my mother was afraid I'd just go running around the neighborhood in my underwear playing superhero...and her point was?......

Never had the "long-johns" type seen here. Just the T-shirt and briefs. I hope they made a Shazam, because the yellow piping on that girls red outfit screams...well...SHAZAM!
Spider-Woman has one of the best visuals in comics. Plus she was drawn very...curvy.
I had several pair. Lasted til, I think, fifth or sixth grade, when we started playing basketball and had to change in the locker room. Then suddenly, I was catching all kinds of static for wearing Underoos.
“As human beings we all want to be happy and free from misery… we have learned that the key to happiness is inner peace. The greatest obstacles to inner peace are disturbing emotions such as anger, attachment, fear and suspicion, while love and compassion and a sense of universal responsibility are the sources of peace and happiness.” - The Dalai Lama
When I am grown to man's estate,
I shall be very proud and great.
And tell the other girls and boys,
not to meddle with my toys.

I was definitely at that age where I really wanted them, but would have NEVER admitted it. I think I was trying to convince myself I was too old for such amazingly cool, fun things.
