Making up for toys you wanted in the past

We've all said it. "I wanted ____ when I was a kid, but I didn't get it." Name your top 5 (if that many) toys you bought in your adulthood you didn't get as a kid. Here are mine:

    1) Click Clacks
    2) Cynthia doll
    3) Wake Up Thumbelina
    4) Baby Tender Love (Ok, Baby Brother)
    5) Lunchboxes
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

    1. Most of my Mego Collection- any I didn't have as a kid.
Other than that I am basically just replacing stuff I had when I was a kid, or filling in the gaps of lines that I had, like Star Wars Vintage stuff, and custom megos.
"Steel-like jaws clacked away, each bite slashing flesh from my body - I used my knife and my hands, and when they were gone, my bloody stumps - and yet the turtles came."

The only thing I can really think of is the NFL Action Teammates. I always wanted them, especially a Redskin and a Dolphin, but never got any. I have only 3 now (Steelers, Cowboys and Cardinals). Not sure if I want to pursue them or sell the ones I have.

Well, can't say that I've bought too many things yet in adulthood that I didn't already have (replacing things I USED to have) but there is one thing that I intend to get someday that I ALWAYS wanted and asked for but never got and that's the Mego Planet of the Apes Village playset. I had ALL the other playsets as a kid except the Village.

                Hmmmmmm....

Megos come to mind...I'm drawing a blank on everything else...
I mean I WANTED a lot of stuff as a kid that I never got,
but much of it I never bothered buying as an adult.

As a little kid, I only had the BATMAN Comic Action Hero---
                I wanted all of them.
And I have them all now (kinda...they're not all complete)

The 8 inch Megos I wanted were AQUAMAN, WONDER WOMAN,
                RIDDLER and LIZARD....maybe SHAZAM.
If I knew there was an AQUALAD, you can bet I wanted one---
but I don't remember if I knew there was an AQUALAD back then.

Dang----I almost forgot---I wanted the ZOD, LUTHOR and
JOR-EL 12 inchers---and I got those about ten years ago

                  Mego Planet Of The Apes.

I loved Star Trek more and threw most of my limited toy lobbying power behind getting Star Trek stuff.

But I saw a couple Ape figures here and there and would love them too. Also I only ever got Superman and Batman as far as Mego Superheroes. I would've loved to get Robin, Spiderman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman, exc. I was never really able to find them since my parents were not in the practice of taking me to toy stores.

I usually got stuff out of Sears or Pennies catalogs.

Two toys come to mind. First is Major Matt Mason. I had the space station (too cool) and the moon walker, along with lots of accessories. Second is the Motorific Torture track. I have very fond memories of laying out elaborate track designs and running those cars all over the place. Boy did I go through a lot of AA batteries.

In my toy collecting career I've probably owned 90% of things coveted but never received as a child, that's mostly why I collect Mego I guess, I wanted it all.

Some things really stuck like the Big Jim PACK stuff I missed or certain G.I. Joe Adventure team pieces but other toys like Pulsar and Mattel's Space:1999 line have come and gone from my collection. I think sometimes wanting is better than having.

My favourite items in my collection always seem to be birthday presents or things I have a personal connection with.

My Holy Grail is still the Jumbo Godzilla.
I missed out on this one when I was young (at a convention, with him being snatched away by another collector in front of my nose, "Noooooooooooooo.......!!!!"), and never got him. Found an incomplete and damaged one once, but they wanted too much $$$ for it even in that state.
And shipping from the US is a lot for a big item.

Never had MMM, until recently. My best friend had one, and it was soooo cool!

The toy I wanted the most was the Evel Knievel Stunt Bike, but my parents wouldn't get me one for some reason. I've now built up a nice little collection of Evel toys now which has more than made up for that.
