What if Mego licensed Micronauts from Hasbro?

Hasbro owns the Micronauts, and has a good working relationship with Takara/Tomy (which owns Microman).

Hasbro is also known to license their properties to other companies (for example Super 7 for their GI Joe and Transformers ReAction figures).

So what if Mego licensed the Micronauts from Hasbro, since Hasbro doesn't seem interested in doing anything with it?

The Takara/Tomy co-ownership doesn't seem to be a problem, considering the aforementioned Transformers ReActions.

I'd love to see some Micronauts. Hasbro has pretty much ignored the license. My guess is that they would let Super7 have a go at it before Mego.

I briefly asked Marty about Micronauts at Mego Meet this year. He did express an interest in working with Hasbro to bring something out, but he was pretty vague, and Marty isn't the type to say no about anything, so I wouldn't put too much faith in it. But he did light up at the mention of Micronauts, so I think it's a property he enjoyed.

I forgot Mego and Hasbro collaborated on that Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow pack.

I am sure Marty would be up for it and it would be cool but I don't know if the last two sets were considered a success or not. I thought they were nice toys though.

I recall the Hasbro SDCC set that sort of looked like the Astrostation. What was the other?

I don't know how much interest Hasbro has in doing anything Micronauts related currently. Apparently, according to the show runner who was in charge of the the last Micronauts animated project, they have 52 completed episodes of that series in the can, just sitting on them, currently doing a Batgirl on it and refusing to release it. He claims to have about 4-6 episodes on his drive that he had for review when the project got canned and put in cold storage that he is showing select folk. Take it with a grain of salt. Hasbro was apparently willing to take Disney's money to allow Marvel to put out the 3 volumes of the Micronauts omnibus, but that deal was made when Hasbro was having a dismal year for anything not produced by their Wizards of the Coast subsidiary, which was their only profitable division, and was likely taken to try to salvage some quarterly reports, not because they have any interest in reviving or supporting the Micronauts brand. I'm not sure Mego money has the same allure or influence as Marvel money.

You got that right, Hasbro dwarfs Mego, and Disney is 20 times bigger than Hasbro.
