I received my Worst wave 2 figures so I decided to look at them, from best to Worst.
My favorite is Cortex Commander. A regular guy in a military uniform with a visible brain under glass is just too cool. The possibilities for 'powers' is limitless. Now we just need a variant in a naval uniform called Cortex Commodore.
Next is Shedusa. This is the cleanest medusa figure I have seen made to date and it was hard to choose between her and CC.
Third is Red Tiger. The tiger head looks really good here and the cape rocks with the pattern on the back of it. The vinyl cape is mounted on the neck post before the head is put on the figure, first time I have seen this done on a 5PoA.
The Biker Werewolf comes in fourth. Not the best werewolf I have ever seen but it has always seemed to me that werewolves and bikers just made sense for a pack of wild animal killer shapeshifters that don't want to be identified so they keep moving around, and he comes with a pool cue.
Fifth is Captain Deadstar. Not a bid pirate fan. The torso chest looks nice but the peg leg makes it difficult to stand him up.
Last is Frankenghost. I cannot judge the quality of his sculpt because of the materials choice. The clear plastic idea is ok but trying to add the smoky black dye just screwed it up, making the detail of the figure too difficult to see. Perhaps future variants will look better.
When I started making these printable playsets a long time ago, I found a playset on Google called Grimleigh's Grimplays. I consisted of a floor and 3 walls rinted on a single 8.5X11" sheet of paper used to display a single papercraft figure that resembled a Pop. There was only 1, but I took that image and stripped the details to create a template that I used to create many other playsets. Here is one of those old playsets, reprinted and assembled.
"Quiet night tonight."
"Yes it is, Ollie. You know, having your series cancelled is not the end of the world. I speak from personal experience."
" I know Bruce, I know, but it still feels that way."
Wanted: Legends of the West (Empire & Excel) and other western historically-based figures. Send me an offer.
Also interested in figures based on literary characters.
The Padded Cell was a precursor to this custom playset that I finished a few days ago, but which was waiting for it's occupant which I just finished today.
I used the AFT sets as templates to create this set from scratch based loosely on images from the series found on Google. The power box on the wall is an original creation of mine created in Paint.
