Hey guys just was needing some advice regarding pocket heroes and cah cap america shield. I have a cah shield that has the silver paint totally worn off and is plain colored and another that has faded silver ring and star. What I was needing to ask was would it be a BAD idea to repaint the silver areas on one or both of these? And what paint would be best to replicate the original look? Odds are I wont be reselling these, and am trying to find a place to get repro blister carding done. Am I crazy? I just figured since it would stay in my collection it would look strange having a worn figure in a new card..i dunno

from a pure collector standpoint any repaint is a reduction in value even if only to restore the look because it's not original. The hardest thing will be to find the same "metalized: look paint material. So long as you are honest about it being repainted it's your toy do want you want -
Use a silver acrylic (water-based) paint on the shield and paint it thinly in
several coats. This will better let you control the paint so it doesn't
run all over the shield.
Another way to re-silver the shield - and less permanent - would be to
get some silver foil wrapping paper or air conditioning tape.
Put the AC tape over the shield and gently cut away the contours of
the star and ring removing the rest of the tape.Comment

THAT'S a good idea! You can get one of them AAA stickers and use those, too.
If you're gonna paint something silver, undercoat in black first.
