Custom cards for custom figures

Wasn't sure if I should post these here or in the "customs" forum.

I thought I'd try my hand at making cards for custom figures I did.

nice I threw together one a long time ago for the second GL figure I did but it just used the MM card as a template so it was hardly as cool as yours, and you printed yours out!!

I think it would be a cool idea to make a card for every, Custom Of The Week entry, starting with the first. Is someone out there has fatter pockets than myself, please consider

I was just planning on doing some of the figures I'd done because it's was a pain in the *** to get the figure seperated from the background. I don't know how it could be done without the figure in front of me to try different things. Getting the figure alone is the hardest part but after that, making a card is not too big a deal so if someone wanted and could get me a workable figure photo I could probably do something. I tried 3 different background until I found one the I could remove ( notice I didn't say easily remove ) in Photoshop. I'm not well versed in using Photoshop and it's a lot of trial and error, but it's fun.

I'm still planning on doing the Classic Supergirl and Mary Marvel I did. I'm even working on printing character info on the back but still need to figure that part out.

I got some 12 point card stock and that's what I used to make these, not as thick as other cards but not too bad. Info just in case anyone interested.

Oh - The Zatanna card looks better in person, it photogarphed a bit dark.

Cool idea! They turned out good man. Looking forward to seeing more of them.

As far as seperating the figure from the background, yeah it can be a pain. Did you know you can hold the shift button down when using the magic wand? That seems to help. Also i found the magnetic lasso to be a great help in instances where i couldn't get the wand to do what i wanted.

I think this is a GREAT idea!

I had a similiar idea recently. My idea for this series of cards was "Mego Museum Customizer Series". These cards would be for custom 8" inch figures done by various members of the Museum. There would be a set per customizer (maybe 5 cards per customizer), with that customizer's information on the back and brief paragraph about what went into creating that particular custom figure.



I'd like to see the Mego logo removed (since these aren't all "mego", but parts and bodies from different custom sellers), and maybe some sort of unique "MM Customizer Series" logo there.

I'd like to see a set for "MM Customizer of the Month" as well.

A friend of mine that is a graphic designer did this one for me, but probably won't have the time to do more. Excuse the crummy photography, but when I took this one it wasn't with the intention of using it on a card!

You'll have to change that Zorro card. It cannot look like the Museum cards. That's stealing someone elses idea.

Those are awesome cards indeed!!! A custom card for custom of the week would be so Awesome!!! BK makes some really cool custom cards too like his wonderwoman card, very cool.

I think the Zorro card looks really cool, especially the Z. Could the museum card people make these customizer series, I think we should donate to get them made if they want to make the cards.
