    Mego Meet 2024 Thoughts

This will be a ramble that I'll add to from time to time. I'm working on a recap video, and I work slowly so as not to forget anything. This is part of the exercise.

This year's event felt right; it felt like "Mego Meety, " if that's the word. We weren't at full power, but we must accept that it's tough when you're not running the whole event.

That has a lot to do with how Mike runs Zolocon. He has excellent long-term relationships with his vendors and attendees, which trickled down to us.

Our most important thing is the space to be us, and we got that. During the day or evening, I was surrounded by my tribe, like-minded collectors looking to have fun. To be perfectly honest, "Mego Alley" was a place I'd like to live.

I want to give massive props to Steve for taking this on during a hectic time. The truth is, I couldn't do everything I could due to family issues and I worried I let folks down. This has been a rough year and Steve got my slack, Jack.

Also, to all the MM vendors and attendees, I have so much more to share, but I've got to get back to work. Some photos will follow, followed by more recollections, regrets, and funny stories.

This was the Mego Suite on Saturday, hopping and buzzing with conversation. I was too tired to do much that night, and it was wonderful to know the party didn't really need anybody to liven it up; it took care of itself.

Great to see you. This seems to have been a positive experience for everyone involved and I am glad of it.

I was happy to see you Mike, even for just a day, thanks for that. Also, my shrine of "Mike Parker's Pick-Ups" photos has a new entry. I appreciate you placating my OCD here.

I wish it could move back to the Marriott in Columbus. That was a nice venue, and one I would've liked to spend more time. In the future, I hope it returns to Columbus now and then, but I *will* make an effort to attend in the future, even if it is a bit of a drive. The only place I would *NOT* attend a Mego Meet is in New York, due to the very rude and ugly comments directed toward me and my hometown by one who will remain nameless.

all that aside, I'm glad this year's show was a success, and that everybody had a good time. I would've been there if I could.

I wish there was a virtual component. So many nice things I would love to buy and the panel would be nice to see live,

We were unable to pull it off at the location as we wanted there to be an online component. We will be having the auction in September after we get our kids to School and such.

I enjoyed watching the video. I'm still kicking myself for not going because it was so close to home for me but I couldn't be in two places at the same time.
