Roberto's display was incredible, and he was great about explaining all the details and thoughts behind the creation of it all. Really enjoyed it!Comment

c'mon, the title of this thread should be;
Did Darklord 1967 come and set up his Batman stuff this year in under 48hours?
The answer - yes, it was set up in 47 hours lol.
So much attention to detail, so much passion...and what can I say, but WOW.
Dude has a serious passion for making us all oooh and ahhh.
Amazing customs.Comment

Did I set up my Custom Bat-Display, you ask?
Indeed I did! And I had an absolute BLAST doing it too! I just wish the weekend was longer!!I... am an action figure customizerComment

The central point of the display was the top two floors of the Gotham Warehouse & Storage Building (where The Batman and Robin The Boy Wonder were to be posed)! The building measures 4 feet wide by 4 feet deep by 3-1/2 feet tall. It's got internal lighting for windows, detailed rooftop with internally lit skylight, smoke stacks, stone gargoyles, and a decrepit, old watertower. The building stood in front of an 8 foot x 8 foot Gotham skyline backdrop developed from original artwork graciously donated by the Mego Museum's own Robyn Adams. The two tables flanking the central display featured two smaller diorama "scenes" and the work-in-progress correctly-scaled 1966 Batmobile!

At table one, The "ASYLUM ESCAPE" diorama was featured. This depicted a scene where four of Gotham's most notorious psychotics have escaped from their cells and gathered in the Shock Therapy Chamber at Arkham Asylum as they set off a massive explosion to cover their daring breakout!
I was SO rushed and pressed for time trying to get this display ready in time for the meet that I was still finishing these figures on the day of the show!!! I did not even have time to paint pupils into the eyes of all the characters!! I will be doing that n the coming days!
THE JOKER creeped out quite a few people at the meet.
THE PENGUIN made it clear that he was NOT a villain to be trifled with, armed with his two deadly "bumbershoot" umbrellas!
TWO-FACE spent the day casually flipping his two-headed silver dollar, letting fate decide if he would do good or evil to the visitors of MEGO MEET!
With his flamboyant flair for theatricality, THE RIDDLER threatened many with his solid-brass walking cane while baffling visitors with his endless conundrums.Last edited by darklord1967; Feb 19, '18, 11:19 PM.I... am an action figure customizerComment

"SUMMONING THE HEROES"
With the terrible prison break at Arkham Asylum threatening the city, POLICE COMMISSIONER JAMES GORDON flashes the BATSIGNAL from the roof of police headquarters, soliciting the help of the Caped Crusaders!
NOTE: Sadly, the DC Direct Batsignal Prop featured in this weekend's display was STOLEN from under my display table at some point between Saturday night's wrap-up, and the following morning at 10 AM. The prop was brand new in its original box and now it is gone. While disappointed, I remain philosophical and ultimately am not too upset about this theft: I brought this Batsignal only as a "place-holder" prop to display my custom Commissioner Gordon figure. I left a duplicate of this prop at home AND ultimately i am planning on custom-building my own (much more accurate and detailed) Batsignal prop anyway. It is somewhat annoying, however, that an item which is now valued at upwards of $250 (minimum on eBay) just walked away. Grrr!Last edited by darklord1967; Jun 26, '17, 9:44 PM.I... am an action figure customizerComment

"GOTHAM NIGHT WATCH"
Never ones to shirk responsibility, THE BATMAN & ROBIN THE BOY WONDER respond promptly to the Commissioner's call for help!! From the rooftop of Gotham Warehouse & Storage, they survey the chaos at distant Arkham Asylum and prepare to confront the oncoming threat!
