It's really hard to believe that this is my seventh Mego Meet coming up. Sometimes it feels like yesterday that I convinced my wife to drive me down to Wheeling WV as a birthday present. She dropped me off at the Toy Museum like it was day-care, and she spent the day at a spa. 8)
As items crossed off my "Bucket List" goes, Mego Meet 2010 is high up, and appears to have long lasting impact among my happiest memories.
I spent most of my time with the folks at the customs table, but there were so many awesome moments throughout the day, and it was such an amazing experience putting faces to the screen-names. Everyone in the Mego Suite was so welcoming to a newcomer. Mego Racing was a new event that year and I thought it was a great deal of fun. Loved that everyone went out to a big dinner (even if the dinner wasn't all that great), and a handful of us went out for Ice Cream together before adjourning to the suite once again.
I'm super excited to see everyone again in a few short weeks. I do kinda miss the Toy Museum (not Wheeling though), and it's such a shame that so many MM regulars weren't able to transition to Skokie because of the distance.
I am excited to once again be in the Chicago area though, so much more to see and do.
