I was reading a recent issue of Toyfare. It had a profile of the toy line Robo Force. In the story it is mentioned that the line was put together by former Mego employees.
Quote:
ToyFare: What was your involvement with Robo Force?
Kirchner: I had worked on Eagle Force at Mego before they went bankrupt, and when they went bankrupt the people in the creative department scattered far and wide—some of them ended up at CBS Toys. The art director on Robo Force was a fellow named Bruce Stern, who had been the art director on Eagle Force, so I worked with him.
Other than Robo Force, does anyone know what toy lines are direct spiritual descendents of the Mego legacy? I.E concepts advanced by small groups of former Mego employees? I would imagine that there are many diverse lines immediately after Megocorp dissolution, and that it tapers of as the former Mego people spread further, or dropout of the industry entirely.
Just curious....
