last year, I purchased a Mego Tarzan in the box from Japan; however, it is in an American box. Tarzan still has a dry rotted rubber band around his waist where the knife goes under the leotard. The funny thing about this figure is that the knife is silver and is stamped H.K. at the hilt. Now, I have several black Tarzan knives, but this is the only silver knife i have ever seen. In addition, CTVT had produced this knife, but I am unsure if anything is stamped on the hilt. I cannot imagine why they would stamp it with a Hong Kong brand. Any input?

Mego did make that knife just as you describe. You can find it with Cochise in the West line. Here is the pic
It's probable that it is an original knife that either got switched aftermarket, or even in the factory. I could easily believe that Mego had extra silver blades leftover from the West line and just popped them in with Tarzan. -
Extremely cool, thanks for clearing this up.Website for rare and exciting figures for the 1950s to present, now featuring MANY Action Figure Protective Clamshell cases -- ZoloWorld.com
