    Replacing snaps

The snaps on my Spider Man outfit had gotten so bent and rusted,I felt I had to replace them. Should I have done this or should I have left well enough alone? I thought to ask this in case any of the new members ever find themselves having to deal with the same situation.

It depends on how gung-ho you are about 100% original pieces. If you decide to sell it, you should definitely mention that the snap has been replaced. Personally, I try to replace snaps on my stuff, especially if it's something that I've done other repairs on. If I end up with a piece of original clothing that it otherwise junk, but has good original snaps, I will save those for future repairs, because sometimes I have trouble finding snaps that are exactly the same as the ones used on Megos. Again, if I end up selling a piece that has been repaired in any way, I'll mention it. But if I can re-use original snaps, at least I can let buyers know that the replacement snaps are still vintage. You'll find that this has varying degrees of importance to different collectors - A few must have 100% unaltered original stuff, but many aren't concerned with a replaced snap on an otherwise nice figure. As long as it doesn't bother you, and as long as you're upfront with buyers, you shouldn't have a problem.
