A friend of my mother in law comes over for a block party we were having a couple years back (I guess block parties are a NY thing - this sounds like the beginning of bad joke - LOL). Anyway, My wife was showing her our basement (where I keep my collection) and she comes upstairs all excited - "I used to work for that company". Turns out she worked for Mego (she worked in the customer service department). Needless to say - she said she had boxes and boxes of stuff that was long gone (of-course). I would think there probably are still some ex-employee's with some nice stuff out there (that held on to things for whatever reason).

Tell me about it. My brothers now wife then fiancée lived next door to the Either David or Marty Abrams wife I don't recall which one... We would tell her all the time ask her if she has any storage units we could go thru lol

These are the rarest of the rare especially the Aquaman and the Robin. As you can see they only came 2 and 4 to a box. Depending on the condition of the box between $5000 to $10000 individually maybe more.

is it a catch 22, the more of that super rare stuff that is found, the less rare it becomes?
for example would a case of carded ironmans flood the market and make each one worth less? or would they all command a premium?

my guess is the overall selling price would drop a bit but not by much
