This.
I'll never understand the tolerance so many have for repro items. There's so much of that junk littering eBay auctions and defacing vintage toys that I feel sorry for anyone trying to collect true all-original vintage Megos now.Comment

I think there has to be some kind of tolerance for it, lets face it there are so many more incomplete and beater Mego's out there than complete ones. Remember these things are 40+ years old. I posed the question in a thread a while back if Mego were still in business and you had the opportunity to replace a boot a glove or a cape etc wouldn't you do it. That's what theses guys do. Naturally I do prefer original but sometimes you just can't help it... But I would like to know what's real and repro give me the choice.Comment

I hear what you're saying, but honestly, the scarcity is part of what makes collecting them enjoyable. Every incomplete Mego doesn't have to be completed, some can just be used for parts. Part of the fun of Mego collecting is hunting down that vintage skinny boot or half-waffle/half-smooth oven mitt you need to complete a figure. I've always thought, if you want to collect Megos, then collect Megos. But repro parts aren't Mego.I think there has to be some kind of tolerance for it, lets face it there are so many more incomplete and beater Mego's out there than complete ones.
