I was recently cleaning out my dad's basement and found this prize. After looking it up online I see it's a mego pocket heroes batmobile w batman & robin figures. The picture below IS NOT my toy, it's just the same one that I found online. I just wanted to throw something in for reference since I couldn't figure out how to bet my own on here.
I've been a long time comic book collector, but never done much toy collecting. I do know that an unopened box can fetch a lot more money than an opened one. So I'm hoping to get some info to find out if this has been previously opened or not. I found two online auctions where this same toy unopened went for $700 and $770.
The clear plastic on the front is in tact, the box overall is in pretty good shape, and there are pieces of clear tape over each of the ends holding it shut. Is that how it would have come in the store? It just looks like regular scotch tape or whatever on it, it's not what I would call "sealed". Was it just taped shut with regular tape, or should it be totally wrapped in some sort of plastic cover or something?
