Question about repairing a Batgirl belt

    Hi,

Does anyone know of a glue that works well on Mego belts?? I have been having great difficulty with a Batgirl belt. I tried Loctite Plastic/fabric adhesive, epoxy, hot glue - to no avail. I am ready to give up

    Thank you in advance

I've tried crazy glue, but it really didn't help too much...is it Batgirls pouch you are trying to reattatch? If so, I'd just put a small peice of tape behind it to attatch it to the belt.

I'm having the same issue trying to reattach the belt to a Green Arrow quiver. Still looking for solutions.

          Thanks,

I think Paul has something - I will let you know I have tried so many different glues - I am embarrased to tell - I probably could of just bought a perfect batgirl!!

i have my Batgirl, which I bought from a member here (can't remember who), the pouch is held on by a small piece of tape and unless you took the belt off you could not tell. i like life to be simplified. why complicate things trying to find a glue that works when a piece of scotch tape works just as well?

Tape won't cut it with the quiver though. Let me know what you get from Paul, I'm anxious to find out. Thanks!

I fixed a Batgirl belt (broken purse of course) with epoxy once. It worked pretty well, I owned her for several years after that, and it continued to stay attached.

I had tried a whole bunch of different epoxy glues - there are so many different ones! The last one that I used was plastic epoxy - needless to say, it only held on until I tried to put the belt on and then it fell off!

I think the tape idea is good too - it is simple!!

I've never found a glue that worked out for me.
I've been able to fix a few pieces with my digital heat pen, (a goblin satchel, as well as a knights belt I picked up from T recently, and a few Wayne Foundation parts that an idiot was stupid enough to ship me in a Keyboard box with no filler packing... grr)
Unfortunately that takes a heat pen and a deft hand, so probably of no use to anyone. T_T

Before that though I would pierce a small hole with a heated sewing needle and then thread the parts together with identically colored thread. This might work out for that Green Arrow quiver.

With the Green Arrow quiver i did it on the same way like Tothiro just two weeks ago. It works well and you can close the belt without a chance to seperate again.

A digital heat pen sounds like a good idea!!

There has to be a glue out there that has the same effect of model (plastic cement) on plastic models!! The plastic gets melted a little bit when this glue is applied. Mego plastic does not seem to melt!!!

Paul (Dr. Mego)had sent me a dr. mego batgirl belt I have not asked him directly but I am sure if there was something he knew about he would have mentioned it or sent it!

I can't seem to find a digital heat pen - does it go by a different name??

I guess "heat pen" is a misleading moniker. :/ Get ready to faint:
I'm sporting the earlier model Kerr Ultra Waxer setup for my wax sculpting that I picked up on eBay years back.

Checking around 'Bay though this seems like the best alternate deal for something like that: Two Pens, No Waiting
