    Just a question.

I would like to know if the legs on all US-released 12 inch bodies are like the ones on the "Christopher Reeves" Superman.

While I did read in the museum that it's common for the "buff" torsos to be on all US 12 inch dolls, the legs are indeed different as well. I have a 12 inch Captain America and a 12 inch Comic Book Superman with each one broken leg. I ordered a parts "Christopher Reeve" Superman to replace the legs, but the legs are definitely not a match. So I'm wondering if the other 12 inches like Buck Rogers or Star Trek donor parts will be matches.

All I really need to know is whether or not a Buck Rogers leg would be the same as a Captain America leg or Comic Book Superman leg.

    Thank you in advance.

The legs are definitely different between the standard and muscle body 12" figures. 12" Mego figures released in the US come on both bodies, depending on the character. Buck Rogers himself is on a muscle body (as is Tiger Man and Draconian Guard) so that type wouldn't work for you. But in the Buck line, Dr Huer, Killer Kane and Draco have legs that would work in your situation. Same with any male figure in the 12" Star Trek and Black Hole lines (except for Harry Booth in the latter).

What part is broken? If it's the knee pin, that's a very common problem with these figures, so it might be tricky to find an intact leg to replace it with. There are other fixes though, if you need any help.

ctvt is selling knee pins for the 12" body now. Not sure how well they will work or hold up, but it is a new option.

I'll have to try those ones out. If they work better than the Doc Mego ones (which don't work) I could use a bunch of them.

ctvt is also selling the entire body, so there is that option as well if your pockets are deep enough and the quality is there.

            Not the pin . . .

it's the joint at calf part of the leg. The thigh is okay, but I've had a hard time removing pins (from 8 inch figures) when the calf is broken off. And I figure finding the calf for a 12 inch is pretty difficult. In fact I posted a Wanted ad for a leg over at the marketplace and got no takers. Probably easier just to buy donor parts from eb#y. I knew about the CVTV bodies but they're a little pricey and I don't know about the quality. But I really appreciate the insight, that's just what I needed to know. Thank you.

Are parts like this plentiful at the MegoMeet? I really believe in salvaging Megos as much as possible.
