Superman and Batman cloth emblems

i just got in these figure off a ebay sale ,the guy listed these as his own toys from child hood and stated 100% original ,when i look supes and bats and cap america all have fabric emblems ,now cap ive seen before but not bats or supes ,hes a uk seller and there not fistfighters ,so im guessing they were bought on the green palitoy card ,what do you all think repro ?,the suits are pretty dirty and look like they have been dirty for a long time under supes boots the suit is clean ,so i lifted the emblem slightly and its as clean as a whistle underneath ,which suggests the emblem is original or its been on them for a long time ,im struggleing to post pics ,broken camera ,but heres the listing eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace .thanks for all and any help given cheers chris

Mego did make cloth emblems for Superman and Batman. I own both of theses figures with cloth emblems. I'm not aware of any repro cloth emblems either, so I would say they are original.

hi and thanks for the info ,if its not too much trouble do you have photos of yours ,so i can compare mine to them as supes emblem is nice but looks slightly off model ,and are these variations considered rare cheers chris

In terms of rarity, I'm not sure how rare they are considered. Someone else may be able to chime in on that. It does seem that the cloth emblems are desired by collectors just from watching auctions on ebay though.

Best way to tell if a cloth emblem is a repro is to look at the bat emblem or Superman "S" and see if the image is slightly blurred. If it is, you have an ORIGINAL cloth emblem. Printing process was not as exact back in the 70's as it is these days...hence the registration in the 4 color process wasn't as precise as a computers these days. It was the good ole human element at work. If the image/emblem is REALLY sharp and clean it most likely is a repro.
