Captain America boot question

I guess this could apply to any original Mego boots...

Is it normal for a pair of original boots on a figure to vary in thickness and color from each other?

I bought a MIB Type 1 Cap from one of Benbarb's auctions, and they're always really good about identifying repro parts, but one of his boots is lighter in color, thicker material, and a slightly different shape.

I noticed it right away in person, so I went back and looked at the photos, and you can tell the slight color difference if you know to look for it, but it doesn't really stand out like it does in person.

I suppose so--theoretically, anything is possible from the factory. I've seen varying boots on Mr. F. figures.

Different production runs of vintage boots varied--some of the later (carded) Superman & Cap boots are thicker, brighter red, and have duller detailing as well as a slightly ridged surface.

I do feel though, that a seller should try to have matching boots on even a loose figure.

Well, I contacted Benbarb, and they're going to find me replacement original mint Cap boots and send them to me for free.

I cannot praise or recommend them enough. I have bought many Megos from them, and this is why...they are simply the BEST on Ebay.

I have noted difference if shade for the boot colors. you do see differnt cut points on some of the boots like Mr. F and the Cheron where they were cut to size, also the chips boots
