Thanks alot Roy,i thought there maybe a colour difference over the original knife to a repro one.

If someone as a repro and original it would be nice to see them side by side

I know I have a repro one somewhere for couldnt tell you where for the life of me ... But the difference is pretty easy to notice because the color and material difference .if it is light grey and a soft plastic (real ) and if it is stiff and darker greyish silver (fake)
The same difference would be seen in the short daggers from the Robin Hood line figures .... Glad to help ... Roy

Oh on the repro you could also notice very small pin holes in the plastic .... Thats because they are made in a mold .... it's like an air pocket or something like that .... Roy

Here you go. Notice the smooth texture of the original compared to roughness of the repro to the right.

Has anybody ever done any float tests on items like these? With Star Wars accessories the general rule is that if it floats in water it's original, and if it sinks it's repro. I just wonder if this practice has ever been applied to repro Mego items.

There have been a couple of knockoff ape figures in germany recently. You'll probably remember them. Smaller than a mego, felt covered with no moving parts, but had the bandolier and knife. Possibly it's one of those?

I know the POTA swords were also released with some of the military Lionrock figures as field knives... does anyone know if all of those used the same plastic?
