Captain America outfit question

I was at a convention earlier today and while at a table filled with Mego stuff I found a loose Captain America outfit. It was the standard 8" leotard (same Mego material, open in the back with 1 snap) but differed from the "normal" Cap suit in the following respects:
1) white sleeves
2) scales/star printed on the chest
3) feet/ankle area was printed red (simulating boots)

I was going to ask the dealer but, unfortunately, he seemed to be more interested in socializing with his buddy than making sales because I couldn't get the guy's attention to save my life. I must have been wearing my cloak of invisibility or something (Next time I'll try the Holocaust cloak instead ).
I'm just trying to figure out what the suit is. I was thinking possibly Captain Action -- only it didn't have a belt or buckle. I am positive that it was not from the Famous Covers or Spider-Man line of 9"/8" figures respectively. Anybody have any ideas?

hmmmm? could be one of the infamous Jonathon Moore Silk Screen fakes or maybe just a suit Austin recently printed. Either way it wasn't produced by Mego or any other company.

I was at the same show and saw the suit as well, had to be a custom printed suit even though the seller didn't have other custom stuff, mostly vintage Mego and some Big Jim's. I should have asked him how much, but he's at every show there so maybe next time.

I guess we'll just have to wait until the november convention to find out. I'll bring road flares. That might get his attention.

I've never seen a production Cap' that had scales painted on a Mego-like outfit. The only eight inch costumes are Mego, Famous Covers, and Signature Series. None of those had those scales. Perhaps someone took one of those outfits and did a custom job on it?
