    Black Hole Humanoid Tunic Cleaning

    Good Day All:

I have a Black Hole Humanoid figure from when I was a kid that is in pretty much mint condition.

I have two questions that I was hoping someone could help me with.

    Question #1:

Either myself or my brother took what looks like a red marker and drew a line across the bottom of his tunic on the front. I was wondering if anyone might know of a way to clean this off without discolouring the tunic as well. I thought someone who is expert in cleaning these fabrics might have an idea.

    Question #2

Are there any "reproduction" Black Hole bubble cards that anyone might know of to display this figure? I have found many reproduction cards for other figures, but none for the Black Hole movie. Any thoughts?

Also - I saw someone on Ebay selling a MOC Humanoid for starting bid of $15,000 CAD. Seems a bit high for a figure - is this figure really that rare to warrant such a price?

    Thanks Folks!

P.S. I cannot seem to figure out how to post a picture of the humanoid tunic - please e-mail me your contact info and I will send through (unless someone can instruct me how to post an image to this site).

Thanks for the tip - however the Posting Rules at the bottom of teh screen says I cannot post attachments.

I will try your method to post the image.

Either way - does any one know a way to clean the tunic without damaging the original fabric and colour?

        Image posted??

        Hiya Folks,

I think I was able to load the image of the figure. One of these should work.

I hope you guys can open this image - I would like to learn how, if possible, that the red line at the bottom of this figure's cloak can be cleaned without altering the original cloak colour.

Any ideas would be most helpful - this is an original figure with all accessories (boots are just not in the picture) that I have had since I was a kid.

There is a guy on ebay right now, his name is jwtoyrestoration, he does re cards for Star Wars, GI Joe and Lord of the rings. He might do Black hole as well. I've never ordered from him so I cant vouch for the quality, but it looks pretty good. There is a mego member that does repro boxes for the 8" mego figures, he might do cards as well. I have ordered his stuff before and it is amazing! His name is toyroom (I think, I'll find out for sure)...

Thanks for the tip on the card - I will look into it.

I was hoping someone could also suggest a way to clean the red marker off his cloak without damaging it's original colour in the process.

            Still hoping....

If I were you, I wouldn't even try. It's such a rare figure... and to have the cloak is even rarer... I'd be afraid that anything strong enough to remove the marker might damage the color of the fabric, or the fabric itself. If plain water and a mild detergent (Woolite) doesn't remove it, I'd let it be.

You may be right - I would not want to make it any worse.

I will try the Woolite and report back if it worked. Just a shame as the figure is in pretty good condition except for the red line.

                Thanks again folks!
