    Thor helmet question

    Hi,

How does one get the original thor helmet onto his head? It doesn't seem to want to stay in place? Any help would be appreciated.

The original helmet has a plastic shaft inside that fits snug into the hole in his head.

I have that but it's not fitting in correctly. I'm not sure how to secure the hair down to get it on. At least that is what I think the problem is.

I have one now, and remember the same when I was a kid. I think the trick is to style his hair so's it's straight, and slap the helmet on.

one trick I have used before is to take a batgirl helmet and put it on thor and leave it for a while then the hair will stay down to where his helmet will fit another way you could do this if you don't have a batgirl helmet would be a rubberband

I had the same problemwith my original Thor. Be careful, I broke off the peg inside the helmet trying to get it to stay on.

Just wet the hair with plain water, brush it straight down, then squeeze the head and gently screw the helmet side to side, checking that peg hole is free of hair,...once on, let it air dry, and you got it!

My original Thor (purchased circa 1977) came with a clear plastic headband that kept his hair down. Headband's still in place and helmet fits perfectly! You may want to start out with that Batgirl helmet trick and then secure his hair in place with a strip of clear pvc. Secure the pvc by gluing it to itself with a drop of super glue.

I'll second the be careful you don't break the peg. I did this on my first Thor and was so mad at myself.

I always use my 5 year olds hair de-tangle spray when I wash my Mego's hair. It reduces pulling out the hair. If you are going to brush it out this may help
